Shaw's installed a new combi boiler and carried out a power flush of the hot water system at our home. They were excellent at explaining all the options and answering all of my queries beforehand and gave us clear quote for the work. We have been incredibly pleased with the quality of the work all around and the overall results. They were polite, punctual, had lots of advice when asked, were very tidy and clean. The engineer was incredibly hard working and was able to finish the job earlier than planned despite having to sort out a few complications during the work and working around us. I would definitely recommend Shaw's to anyone who needs a trustworthy plumber who won't mess you about. Far better than various others we have used in the last few years. ~ Adam D

Called Chris Shaw to arrange replacement of a toilet. Prompt, efficient service and exactly as per the quote. I have used this plumbing company many times now and always contact Chris if I have any plumbing issues. I would highly recommend as the service is excellent. I have used Chris Shaw a number of times now and always been very pleased with the service. He is prompt, efficient, tidy, reasonably priced and advises at all stages as to what he is doing. He came on 27th June and did a number of things; repairing taps, replacing the waste disposal unit, changing the ball valve and valve, and he was very thorough and made sure everything was working properly before leaving. A big thank you to Chris and Angelo for their assistance on 20 November 2024. After the first snow of the winter and hard frost overnight, we woke up to no heating and no hot water. I contacted Shaw's and, as always, they responded immediately with details of costs and what they could do to help us. The day was very cold and we were pleased to see Chris arrive later in the afternoon with exactly the equipment that was needed to be replaced for the boiler to work again. He took time to explain the new timer to me and to ensure the system was running OK before he left. Amazing company! Original chat with Angelo who was a great help, answered all my questions Chris then did a free visit to check everything to ensure we were quoted for the right work. Was quoted for the works and explained what needed doing. Cost of the works was great compared to other companies! Was expecting a much more expensive job but it was within budget. Installation itself was seamless, Chris did an amazing job and explained everything as he went along. Also advised about any other possible issues in the house that may need fixing, which is a bonus! I very highly recommend Shaw's Plumbing and Heating and they are my go-to for my boiler and heating system. I moved into a new property and they were helpful when I had some concerns about the gas heating, even replying to an email on Boxing Day which I was really impressed with and showed me their customer care. Chris has been to the property twice. First, to alleviate worries about whether the gas supply was safe to use where he tested everything thoroughly, capped off the gas hob and inspected the heating system and the boiler and second to service the boiler and install parts he had identified as needing replacing from the first visit. Chris explains what he's doing, what to look out for in future and makes recommendations on what action to take which instils great confidence. Chris checks everything thoroughly and works efficiently. I have been very impressed and pleased with the service received. ~ Liz A

I will definitely use Chris Shaw next time I need a heating engineer, I was really happy today and although it wasn't cheap to sort out my ancient boiler I would rather be confident that the work is of a good professional standard than save a few ££. Not only did he identify the issue within seconds, he located and fitted a new fan really quickly. He also spotted other issues that had been there (undetected by others) for years and sorted them out with the minimum of fuss. He was cheerful and super polite (even covering his shoes), and explained everything very clearly, making sure that I understood at each stage and was happy for him to proceed . When he had finished he tested everything meticulously and even took the trouble to show me how to set and operate the timer thing. Last but not least I noticed that not only was he well presented but so was his very clean van. This was very well equipped which inspired confidence. I’ve been on the lookout for a reliable, responsive plumber/central heating engineer for some time now. I found Shaws via W? Trusted Traders and gave them a call for a non-urgent but inconvenient HW fault. I was promptly given a very reasonable quote, detailed breakdown of likely cause/repair and a short lead time for a fix. Chris arrived at the allotted time, fixed the fault, was polite & informative and departed within the hour. I will definitely be calling them for future routine servicing and repair work 10/10. ~ Michael R

I have had to call on Shaws twice to help with pipe and boiler issues. On both occasions they gave helpful and spot on advice as to the problem and how to rectify. My recent boiler issue, I followed Shaws advice and called out the manufacturer, who fixed with new fitted factory parts -The manufacturers (Worcester Bosch) technicians agreed that Shaws detailed advice about which parts were needed and other aspects was perfectly given. I chose Shaw's as of when I went through the process of obtaining a quote they were the only respondent to ask detailed questions to enable an appropriate quote. This filled me with confidence and that confidence was not misplaced. The Plumber arrived bang on time, and the like for like replacement of my Power Shower was performed swiftly, efficiently and in a very professional manner. Blocked Toilet Enquiry made 29.09.25.....Advised Chris will come on the morning of 30th to look at the problem and fix if possible. Chris arrived as stated and was very courteous. I showed him the problem and he got to work right away, he worked diligently fixed the problem and was a true professional. We needed the radiators replacing downstairs as ours were old, rusting, leaking, and one had come away from the wall. Chris and Angelo came over and replaced them with much nicer newer radiators (which my kids can’t deliberately put things down thanks to the grates on the top!). They did a great job considering they had to extend the piping, and made sure that the pipes didn’t stick out as they used to! And at the end; the tidied, leaving no mess. I contacted Shaw’s plumbing and heating via their website very late on Thursday evening. The next morning when I got up there was a response saying they could come today (Friday) and informing me of the associated costs. I replied requesting they come and they were with me by around 11am. They efficiently solved the problem and finished within an hour. The staff I had contact with were all very polite and efficient in doing things. I would rate them 10 out of 10 in all areas. ~ Bernard A

Wanted to post a review due to excellent service from Shaw's Plumbing. We've used a couple of times over the last year now - really good and quick communication by email. Have turned up exactly when promised and even called to check, but arrived early one of the times. Able to attend next day on both occasions - even though one of the times I messaged on a Sunday evening - Chris was there at 9am the next day. Chris arrived to scenes of chaos in a freezing house and remained calm and in control of everything. He was able to diagnose and fix the problem with the boiler (after thorough investigation) and gave us advice for the future. Whole company is extremely organised, they keep you updated as to arrival time and the invoice is sent immediately via email. Price tag did not require a sit down and a stiff gin, which was a lovely surprise. Would not hesitate to recommend. ~ Boss C

Chris and Angelo found a gas leak under the property so isolated the old pipework and rerouted new to the cooker and boiler,power flushed the system and fitted new boiler. They were very thorough and used dust sheets throughout the house. They really are two friendly and informative guys. I have no hesitation in recommending them at all. I’d messaged Angelo this morning expecting Chris to come and check my heating problem within the next week or so, Chris came out this afternoon and found the header tank not filling up properly. This is the second year I've used Shaw's for a boiler servicing and landlord certificate. Despite an emergency job resulting in my original appointment being canceled (which I suppose couldn't be helped) the subsequent booking, servicing, invoicing and communication was great. This was my first experience of asking a plumber to fix a problem in my house. I have to say I was impressed by the service we received from Chris. I had a prompt response to my initial enquiry and an early booking in to view my broken TRV valve. He ordered a new valve and fixed it 2 days later. He waited till all the radiators were heating up nicely. He only charged me for 1 hour even though he stayed 45 minutes more. TOP MARKS ! ~ Wail A

Excellent and good value service from start to finish. Chris fixed a leak from a toilet and also noticed that I needed a new washing machine valve. Communication from Angelo to set up the appointment was first class and Chris turned up on time.
